Sunday October 6, 2019.
VCMT – Vancouver College of Massage Therapy
Snacks and drinks provided
Approved for 6 PE credits.
This one day course explores the relevant science of manual therapy. Using a biopsychosocial reasoning process and evidence-based practice principles, participants will learn how to maximize treatment effectiveness through touch, education and exercise/movement interventions. This will be explored and discussed through the understanding and application of current research.
We will learn how to conduct an academic literature search, interpret, and apply evidence to practice. Multiple examples will be used to understand the validity, reliability and plausibility of research.
The following questions will be answered:
What makes a good study? How is that applicable to my practice? How do I formulate a good research question? Is the research plausible? What do all these numbers mean in the results section?
